Master's Degree Program

The College of Education admits students to the Master's degree programs on a selective basis. Minimum requirements for admission to the M.Ed./M.A. degree programs include an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75. Post-baccalaureate or prior graduate study will be taken into consideration when interpreting grade point average. Applicants who do not meet the grade point standard described above may, in special cases, be considered for conditional admission upon the recommendation of the program area.

Doctoral Degree Program

The applicant must:
  • possess a graduate GPA of 3.5;
  • interview with the coordinator of the Evaluation and Measurement Program;
  • score satisfactorily on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE);
  • complete an hour-long essay which will be scored by two members of the faculty;
  • have three letters of reference and all transcripts mailed directly to Graduate School of Education;

Following the interview with the program faculty, a recommendation (either supporting or denying admission) is directed to the Graduate School of Education, who will notify the applicant of the decision concerning admission.
