The HM program is guided by the HM Advisory Board, which was formed in November 1997. The mission of the HM Advisory Board is to provide the program with a strong linkage with industry leaders and other professionals to ensure the continuing ability of the program to prepare high quality professionals for the hospitality management industry.
The Board is focusing on five major areas:

- student recruitment and retention
- learning technologies
- partnerships and collaborations and values
- identity
- communicatio
